Which windows on the vehicle can be covered with perforated film?

Lochfolie für Fahrzeugscheiben

The application of film to vehicle windows is subject to clear legal regulations. In Germany, the following applies:

  • Rear window: Generally permitted, provided that an approved film with the appropriate certification (e.g., ABE) is used and rear visibility is not unduly restricted. Two functioning exterior mirrors are required.
  • Rear side windows (from the B-pillar): Also possible depending on the vehicle and film type, as long as legal requirements are met.
  • Front windshield and front side windows: Applying perforated film here is generally not allowed, as the driver's direct view must not be impaired.

It is important to always use an approved film and ensure professional installation. The perforated film offered comes with an ABE certification sticker, which must be properly affixed.

Note: The regulations mentioned refer to Germany. Different rules may apply in other countries. We recommend checking local regulations.
